Tinajo is a beautiful, peaceful, traditional Canarian village and offers a great way to see the real Lanzarote as it is a world away from the artificial atmosphere of a built up resort. Neighbouring villagers still press their own wine in the traditional way made from grapes grown in local vineyards.

and the surrounding villages of Tiagua and La Vegueta between them offer an
excellent choice of restaurants including Italian, Chinese, several Spanish,
French and modern European. The village also has a well-stocked supermarket,
two bakeries, a stationers that sells English newspapers and two children's’
play parks.
The central location of the village means that it is ideally located for
exploring the whole island. While Puerto del Carmen in the southeast can be
reached by car in 20 minutes, it is equally quick and easy to get to the
north of the island to enjoy the sights of Jameos del Agua and Mirador del
Rio. The stunning, spectacular volcanic scenery of Timanfaya
National Park is right on your doorstep. Locally, the surf is
excellent as Famara, with its spectacular sandy beach and
high cliffs, and La Santa are both nearby.
