Cuevas de los Verdes
The Cuevas de Los Verdes — like the Jameos del Agua — are part of a 6Km long lava tube which formed about 3,000 years ago when nearby Montaña La Corona erupted. It forms one of the longest volcanic galleries in the world and is of great scientific interest. In 1964 a 2km pathway was created by Jesus Soto to show off the caves to their best effect. But it is difficult to tell that there has been any human intervention at all, aside from an excellent lighting system which highlights the cave walls. Lanzaroteños once hid here from pirate raids. And today the Caves still house a secret which can only be uncovered by visitors. Open :: Daily 10.00 – 17.00 Admission :: Adults €8 Children €4 Parking :: Free
